R.I.P. Black Toe Lucy
(July 4, 1997 - Jan. 8, 2013)

Lucy did not eat or drink anything overnight. She couldn't hold her balance when she got up to use the litter, didn't do anything, went right back to lay down. Jane woke up in the middle of the night and found Lucy sitting in the litter box, she peed. Jane tried to feed her but she didn't eat and went to lay down again. Around 4:30am Lucy was hanging off her blanket with her head touching the floor. All her 4 paws were ice cold but her body was warm. She stretched out her arm in the air, strange position, never saw her do that before. She was weak, her eyes were dilated and were moving in swirly motions, left and right. We rushed her to the hospital. Dr Ryan Lunt who was on duty, took a blood sample and the results were not good. She had a very severe case of Anemia. (See the images for the test results). The Dr said even with blood transfusion she would still be suffering and said it's best that we euthanize her. :( Had we not brought her in when we did, the Dr said she would have been gone in 5 hours. Jane and I were with Lucy to the end, we sang her favorite Black Toe Lucy song to her very last breath. Lucy showed no signs of pain and passed away very peacefully at 5:30am.

We're both taking this pretty hard and are extremely upset especially Jane.Rest in peace sweet little Black Toe Lucy. We love you forever.

January 08 2013 6:30am*Jane and I are extremely heartbroken right now to even type anything.
She left us peacefully in the hospital this morning at 5:30am.

Lucy a most wonderful cat is at the Bridge with Jesus, safe, cared for, & LOVED. I wish I could have met Lucy, she is a special cat person and I know that she was loved and cared for by the 2 women that she lived with on this earth. I know she is now safe and sitting on God's lap in Heaven, and one day she will be reunited wither her human parents. I will met Lucy when I get to heaven. For now Lucy can play with Ladie, Cutie, Babie, and Romulus my cat. Take care Lucy we know you are happy and well cared for now sweet girl. I wish the best of God's blessings for Lucy's mommies on earth.
