Bernadette Lucero Burke, 43, of Bloomfield, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, in Bloomfield. She was born in Albuquerque on Sept. 19, 1969, to Felix and Phyllis Lucero.
Bernadette lost her battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord.
She is gone but never forgotten. She is her family's angel.
Bernadette was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law Carolyn Pamanet Yazzie; paternal grandparents Silviano and Carolyn Lucero; maternal grandparents Rosenaldo and Matilda Arellano, and one grandchild.
She is survived by her husband, Scott W. Burke; daughters Desiree Burke and Victoria Burke; brothers Archie (April) Lucero; brother-in-law Jon Burke; sisters Matilda (Ruben) Chavez, Rose (Dion, Sr.) Chavez, Andrea (Armando) Acosta and sister-in-law Dawn Greyeyes. Also surviving are four grandchildren.
Rosary for Bernadette will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at St. Mary's Church in Bloomfield.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, at St. Mary's Church in Bloomfield. Interment will follow at St. Mary's cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Archie Lucero, Armando Arellano, Brandon Acosta, Michael Acosta, Dion Chavez, Jr., Jaymes Matta, Gary Saiz and Jerry Saiz.
Honorary pallbearers will be all her 14 nephews, 11 nieces and her two godchildren.
Bernadette's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
