Martha was the first child born to George Holloway(1798-1875)and Mary C. Woolman Holloway(1816-1838).

Martha married Dr. Enos Penwell(1821-1904) on 9 June 1842. Martha and Enos has 6 children as follows:

Franklin W. Penwell (1843-1920) married May Bowman

George Volney Penwell(1846 – 1927) married Mary Isabel "Belle" Warren

Helen Matilda Penwell(1848-1874)married W.M.Rich

Mary Louise Penwell(1849-)married A.R.Lanney
