Found in The State 16 September 1962: Mrs. Mary Selena Bullock McPherson, 89, of 1110 Gregg St., widow of the late William Warren McPherson of Montgomery, Ala., died at Columbia Hospital early Saturday morning. She was born in Milton, Fla. on Feb. 22, 1873, the eldest child of John Williams and Irene Sizer Bullock of Loundes County, Ala. She was educated at Professor Bartlet's Academy and Saint Cecilia's Academy, Nashville, Tenn. She had made her home in Columbia since 1940 with her daughter and son. Mrs. McPherson was a member of Eastminister Presbyterian Church and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Montgomery, Ala. She was a member of the Columbia chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving are five children, Mrs. W. Eugene McNulty, Jr. of Columbia, Sam A. McPherson of Columbia, Mrs. William Hardy of New Orleans, La., Wilson McPherson of Montgomery, Ala., and John Warren McPherson of Roanoke, Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. B. D. Merriwether of Vicksburg, Miss. and Mrs. R. B. Armistead, Montgomery, Ala.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
