"MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Vivian Sears, 87, Maryville, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 1988, at a health-care center in Maryville.

Mrs. Sears was born in Maryville, Mo., where she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Sears was a member of St Gregory's Catholic Church of Maryville and was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She married Kirtley Sears on Aug. 11, 1927, in Maryville. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1969. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Paul Buhler.

Surviving are three sons, Buhler of Unionville, Mo., Dick of Philadelphia, Pa., and Bill of Maryville, Mo.; two daughters, Ann Thomas and Shirley Zech, both of Maryville; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
