J. E. "Potts" Pickett, Jr., 86, a resident of Perkins Road in the Lincoln community, a retired maintenance worker for Youngstown Steel and an employee of Kennedy's Grocery at Lincoln, died Tuesday (July 30, 1996) at Lincoln Regional Hospital. Mr. Pickett was a native of Fayetteville, a son of the late Emerine and Jessie E. Pickett, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Fuller Pickett of the Lincoln Community; a son, James V. Howell of Lincoln; a daughter, Doris May of the Bellview community; a brother, Charles Pickett of Nashville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday morning at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. J. B. Watts officiating. Interment was in Lincoln Cemetery.
