Manchester - Catherine Abbott, 75, 11 Smith Terr., Manchester, died Wednesday (Oct. 30, 1963) after a long illness.
She was born in Syria, and came to the United States at an early age. On Feb 2, 1906, she married George Abbott, who died in 1955. She was a member of Michael's Orthodox Church of Geneva and the Syrian Social Club of Manchester.
She is survived by six sons, Michael and Isaac of Buffalo, John of Rochester, Abraham of Palmyra, Joseph and Samuel of Manchester; one daughter, Mrs. George (Annabelle) Baroody of Manchester; one sister, Mrs. John Abraham of Wavland; one brother, Samuel Abbott of Manchester; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Schaefer and Halsted Funeral Home, Manchester, today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held tomorrow at 8:30 p.m.
Services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at the Manchester Methodist Church. Rev. Gavriel White, pastor of St. Michael's Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Shortsville.
