First Time Together in 47-1/2 Years
The death of Mrs. George Kern brought these brothers and sister together - and, for the first time in 47-1/2 years.

Left to right, in front, are: Adam Zlegler, Belmond, the oldest; Miss Betty (Ziegler) Koziskek of Moorland, Iowa, the second to the youngest; and Henry Zlegler of Clarion, the second to the oldest; then in the back, left to right: Peter Ziegler, Chicago, the 4th in the category of age; George (Ziegler) Kern, Gamer, the youngest; and Nick Ziegler of Chicago, the third oldest.
Although George is the youngest, he is the largest of the brothers.

George Adam Kern, 64, married, retired farmer, born 2/20/1918 in Belmond, Wright County, IA. Son of Kasper Kern and Elizabeth Simon.
Died 11/11/1982 at Mercy Hospital, Mason City, IA, at 2:05 a.m. Resided 280 Country Club Dr, Garner IA.
Attended rural schools in the Concord Township. Continued farming until 1976 when they retired and moved into Garner. He worked at the ASCS part-time in Garner up to the present time. He was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church and VFW in Garner.
Survivors are his wife Rita, children; Mary Kay Januisik in Custer Park IL, Patricia Kern in Chicago IL, Robert G. Kern in Garner, and Bonnie Kern in Mason City; his brothers, Adam Ziegler in Belmond, Henry (Ione) Ziegler in Clarion, Nick (Lottie) Ziegler in Chicago IL, Pete Ziegler in Chicago IL, sister; Betty Kozishek in Moorland.
