LOIS M. COOK
Lois M. Cook, 75, Concordia, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at Cloud County Health Center. She was born on January 12, 1936, on a farm south of Concordia. She attended Union Valley/Hopewell Elementary School and graduated from Concordia High School in May 1954.
She married Norman Cook in May 1955, and of this union they had a daughter, Catherine Ann Cook.
Lois was a bookkeeper for Midway Motors for several years, JCPenney's and finally found her home with Boogaarts. She was a very hard worker, having worked at the local theater and drive-in through her high school years. She loved spending time with family and friends and later on, with her beloved grandchildren. She loved working in her beautiful flower garden, and was a kind, caring and wonderful person who touched many lives.
She is survived by her daughter Cathrine Bieker, son-in-law Jim, and two grandchildren, Marissa and Micaelah Bieker, all from Concordia; her brother, Richard (Jeri) Scott, Newton; uncle Raymond (Dixie) Wharton, Deshler, Neb., uncle Edwin Wharton, Superior, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond (Bertha) Scott, brothers Wayne Scott and Dale Scott, sister Sharon Fraser, and a nephew Steven Scott. She will be missed by many and held lovingly in the hearts of her family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia. Vigil and recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17 at Nutter Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Nutter Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Parkinson's Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
