David C. Davis, 68, a native of Wales and a resident of Bellaire for the past 14 years, died this morning at 2 o'clock at his home, 2840 Washington Street. He was a miner, having been employed at the Rail and River Mine No. 6 until five weeks ago when illnes forced him to retire.
Mr. Davis came to the United States with his parents when less than a year of age. The family resided in Massillon for a number of years, later moving to Michigan. In 1907 he was married in Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gwendolyn (Harris) Davis; two daughters, Mrs. Ann Swartz and Mrs. Mary Gwendolyn Murray, both of Bellaire; one grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Sara Mornin of Akron; and two brothers, James Davis of Flint, Mich., and Gomer Davis of Seattle, Wash.
The remains were taken to the Trevey funeral home where they will remain for service which will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
