Obituary in the Bradford County Telegraph dated Friday, Sept 11, 1931: Mrs Cuba Andrews of Winter Park, died in a Leesburg Hospital August 27th and was buried in the Crosby Lake Cemetery near Starke, Florida. She was the widow of the late Henry M. Andrews. Mrs Andrews was the daughter of Mr & Mrs Hathcock of Newberry, where she was reared. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a devoted wife and mother. She leaves to mourn her passing, four children; Reba, Kathline, Thelma, and Henry and several brothers and sisters. The funeral was conducted by Rev. G.P. Raymond at the First Baptist Church. Impressive music was rendered by Mrs. J.D. Doyle and Miss Ethel Griffin. DeWitt C. Jones, funeral director, was in charge of the interment. As an additional note, Cuba Andrews received a military pension for her husband's service in Company E, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Regiment, U.S. Infantry. The pension card does not specify which war. It is assumed to be the Spanish-American War in which this regiment fought alongside Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders at San Juan Hill.
