Altoona Mirror, Thursday, 6 September 1923:

"Caroline M. Sanders, wife of Albert Sanders of Duncansville, died at the family home there at 1:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon of a complication of diseases incident to her advanced years. Mrs. Sanders was one of Duncansville's oldest residents, and was well known and highly esteemed by all who knew her. Her death came following an illness of several weeks but prior to her recent illness she enjoyed fair health. Mrs. Sanders was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Myers, both long since deceased, and was born near Allegheny Forge on Feb. 1, 1846, being aged 77 years, 7 months and 4 days. She resided in this section all her life. She was united in marriage 47 years ago to Albert Sanders of Duncansville and has lived in the same house ever since. Mr. Sanders, who survives, was born in the same house, nearly 81 years ago. No children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Sanders. The closest surviving relatives, besides her husband being several nieces and nephews, among whom are Mrs. D.J. Davis of Altoona and George W. Myers of Duncansville. Three sisters preceded her to the grave. She is the last member of her family. Mrs. Sanders was a life long member of the Duncansville Presbyterian church. Her pastor, Rev. L.T. Curtin will have charge of the funeral services which will be private and which will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home on East Market street, Duncansville. The interment, which will be in Carson Valley cemetery, will be private also. Rev. Curtin will be assisted at the service by Rev. Isaac Krider, pastor of the Duncansville Lutheran church. The body may be viewed in the home on Friday morning from 11 to 12."
