2.) PVT - Albert enlisted in Company H, Massachusetts 4th Heavy Artillery Regiment on 10 Aug 1864 and mustered out on 17 Jun 1865 at Washington, DC.
Son of William W. and Sarah (Tyler) Griswold.
(Noted: the Griswold family of Fitchburg sent four sons -- William T., Charles, Thomas and Albert -- and their father, William W., to fight in the Civil war.)
In December 1875, he married Nettie Agnes Crosby, and they were later divorced.
He was enumerated in the 1890 Veterans' Schedule in Fitchburg as having served in the 53rd Massachusetts Infantry, as well as in the 4th H. A., noting that he is totally deaf in his right ear.
In 1897, his daughter, Eva F. Griswold, married Francis C. Runnels at Lakewood, NY. The marriage was registered in Boston.
(Note: The year 1844 is his date of birth on the gravestone, however his birth record from Massachusetts reads 24 Dec 1843, in Fitchburg, MA.; the 1900 census says March 1844.)
