Jean Pitale, age 74, of Hammonton, NJ, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at AtlanticCare Medical Center in Galloway Twp.
Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident there. Jean was retired from Whitehall Laboratories and the Hammonton School District, where she worked as a bus aide.
She loved to work with children and her co-workers. She enjoyed traveling throughout the U. S. and spending time with her family and friends and their families. Jean documented all of our lives with pictures. She loved to be a part of the adventures and accomplishments of her grand nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Hammonton Senior Citizens and the Humane Society of the U. S.
Of special importance were her two cats, Missy and Mandy whom she adored and loved very much.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Selena Pitale, and her sister, Grace Walden.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Pitale and her nieces and nephews, Don and Joy Walden, Adriane and Ralph Whelan, Russ Walden, Cindy and Glenn Nakamaru; her great nieces and great nephews, Lance Whelan(Amanda), Nicole Whelan(Kyle), Don Walden, Selena Walden, Alex Walden, Ryan Elbirn and Sara Elbirn.
A viewing will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 9:30 a. m. - 11 a m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, where services will take place at 11 a. m. Entombment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Atlantic County, 1401 Absecon Blvd., Atlantic City, NJ 08401
