Guy Hardin, 69 years old, was the son of Francis Swain Hardin and Tisha Newman Hardin. Tisha died when Guy was three years old. He had one younger sister, Bessie. He had three half brothers, John, Henry, and Alton. He was raised in Sardis, Tennessee. Guy married Ruby Nell Holmes in Savannah, Tennessee on Dec. 15, 1937. Together they had three children and seven grandchildren who are living. Guy retired from the Milan Army Ammunition Plant, Milan Tennessee in 1974, after working there 35 years. He spent many hours planting and harvesting his garden.
