Larson, born in Langlet, Mora, was the son of Larson and Eva ANDERS Lund, & in 1844 moved with his family to Hemus Village.

In 1862, he married Carrie Mattson, & they emigrated to America in 1865. An infant daughter died on the voyage & was buried at sea. His wife died 2 days after reaching Omaha, NE, & was buried there.

He married Carrie Larson, of Omaha, on April 28,1866, and they homesteaded a farm near Uehling. Six of their 13 children survived infancy. Carrie, died on March 2,1893.

Left to mourn his passing were: Lars, of Atkinson, Eric, Gregory, SD, Willie & Andrew, Uehling, Mrs. Swen Nelson, Wayne, Mrs. E.J. Johnson,Inavale, & 15 grandchildren.

Mr. Lund was a member of the Swedish Baptist church. Funeral services were held at the home of his son, Andrew. Rev. Harrison, Scribner, & Rev. Arlander, Oakland, officiated.

Summary

Died - Larson Lund in Fremont, NE last Sunday evening at the age of
72 years, 5 months and 3 days. He was born in Langlit, Mora,
Sweden, and moved to Imus at the age of 4 years. He married Miss
Carrie Mattson in Sweden and they emigrated to the USA in 1865. A
daughter was born and died on the voyage. She was buried at sea.
His wife died 2 days after reaching Omaha and she is buried there.
In April, 1866 he married Miss Carrie Larson. They had 13 children
but 7 died in infancy. His wife, Carrie, died in 1893. The
surviving children are: Lars of Atkinson, Eric L. of Gregory, SD,
William of Uehling, Andrew of Uehling, Mrs. Swen Nelson of Wayne,
and Mrs. E. J. Johnson of Inavale, NE. He is also survived by 15
grandchildren. He lived 1 mile south of Uehling. There is a
picture of him in the Oakland Independent of April 24, 1914, on

Larson Lund

Mr. Larson Lund, an old pioneer settler of Logan township, died in
the General hospital in Fremont Sunday morning of dropsy. About two
weeks ago Mr. Lund, who had been sick for some time was taken to
Fremont for treatment, he thinking it would help him. He seemed
brighter and cheerful on Saturday and his death early Sunday
morning was a shock to relatives and friends. His body was brot to
his old home Monday evening.

Larson Lund was born in Longlitt, Sweden on Oct. 26, 1841 and died
at Fremont, Nebr. March 29, 1914, age 72 years 5 months and 3 days.
In 1844 he, with his parents removed to Hennis, Sweden, where he
grew to manhood. In 1862 he was united in marriage to Miss Carrie
Mattson of Mora, Sweden. To this union was born one daughter, who
died and was buried at sea during the voyage to this country in
1865 and two days after reaching Omaha Mrs. Lund died leaving him
alone in a strange country. April 28th 1866 Mr. Lund was married to
Miss Carrie Larson of Omaha, and they homesteaded that spring on
the farm where he resided at the time of his demise. To this union
13 children were born, seven of whom died in infancy, the mother
departing this life March 2, 1893.

Mr. Lund is survived by four sons, Lars, of Atkinson, Eric, of
Gregory S. D. and Andrew and Willie of this place, two daughters
Mrs. Swen Nelson of Wausa and Mrs. J. E. Johnson of Inavale, Neb.
Beside his sorrowing children he leaves to mourn his loss 15
grandchildren. Mr. Lund was a member of the Swedish Baptist church
an earnest sincere christian gentleman of unwavering faith. He will
be greatly missed by neighbors and friends. Funeral services was
held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home of his son
Andrew. Rev. Harrison of Scribner, Rev. Arlander of Oakland
officiating. Interment in the Baptist cemetery.

Lars and Carrie (Larson) Lund

Lars Larson Lund was born at Långlet, Mora, Sweden on October 26,
1841 to Lars Larson Lund and Eva Anders. When Lars was 4 years old
the family moved to Imus. He married Carrie Mattson in Sweden and
they emigrated to the USA in 1865. During the voyage a daughter
was born to them, but the daughter died and she was buried at sea.
Lars and Carrie went west to Omaha, NE, and Carrie died 2 days
after their arrival. She is buried at Omaha, NE.

Carrie Larson was born on August 3, 1847 at V†mhus, Mora, Sweden to
Lars and Brita Andersdotter Larson whose other Swedish born
children were Mait (1839-???? may have died as an infant), Andrew
(1841-1908), Oliver (1844-1912), Mary Peterson (1849-1890), and
Becky Frost (1852-1916).

Carrie Larson and Lars Lund were married on April 28, 1866 at
Omaha, Nebraska, and they farmed in the Uehling neighborhood,
owning a farm in section 11. They were the parents of 13 children,
7 died in infancy. The known children were; Lars L. (1868-1950),
Anders (1869-1870), Henry (1870-1871), Mary Nelson (1872-1900),
Anna (1874-1875), Anders (1875-1875), Eric (1877-1957), William
(1880-1942), Andrew (1882-1964), Fred (1884-1885) and Hattie
Johnson (1886-1962).

Carrie died at home on March 2, 1893 and is buried at the Baptist
Cemetery south of Uehling. Lars, 72, died in Fremont on March 28,
1914 and is also buried at the Baptist Cemetery.

Lars L. Lund married Anna Martinson in 1892 and they had 4
children; Ethel Farmer, Lawrence Noble, Alice L., and Ruth Nelson.
They lived at Wausa and Hooper, NE. Their only son, L. Noble Lund,
was killed in action in France on October 16, 1918. The Uehling,
NE American Legion Post is named in his honor.

Mary married Swan Nelson in 1896 and they had 6 children; Esther
Knuz, Emily Hoegner, an infant daughter, Aylene Otteman, Pernella
Suhr/Clouse, and Henning L. They lived near Wayne, NE.

Eric L. Lund married Sigrid Pearson in 1902 and they had 9
children; Clarence, Hanna Ackerman, George E., Harold E., Paul,
Lillian Sutter, Florence Dobesh, Leon and Ruth Ahlers. They lived
at Uehling, NE, Magnet, NE and later Gregory, SD.

Andrew L. Lund married Anna Herrmann in 1903 and they did not have
children. They lived near Hooper, NE.

Hattie L. Lund married John Edward Johnson in 1908 and they had 2
children; Edwin L., and Norman D. They lived several places
including Newman Grove and Fremont.

William (Willie) was not married and he made his home with his
brother Andrew.
