Clarence Earl Caldwell, 80, of Eldon, died Thursday at a boarding home in Tuscumbia. Mr. Caldwell was born Sept. 4, 1888, near Bagnell, the son of John A. and Mollie Vann Caldwell. He was married on April 4, 1909, at Bagnell to Velma Denny, who survives.
Others survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Delores Lantis, of Raytown, and Mrs. Lois Dean Ramsey of Eldon; four sons, Clyde Caldwell of Tuscumbia, Paul Caldwell of Kansas City, Kan., Max Caldwell of Eldon, and Dorsey Caldwell, of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Houser of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Jennie Bowden of Eldon; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Eldon, with the Rev. James Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett. The Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon is in charge of arrangements.
