Loretta S. Freel, 82, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday August 1, 2013 at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 2, 1930 in South Bend to Alex & Sophie (Golba) Springer. On September 7, 1946 in South Bend she married Delbert E. Freel. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1995 in Elkhart. Surviving are 3 sons, Edward (Susan) Freel of Elkhart, David (Pamela) Freel of Arcadia, FL, Billy (Cindy) Freel of Elkhart; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Richard Springer, Danny Springer and a sister, Arlene (Ralph) Flora all of Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Jean Craven. Loretta was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and cooking. She was a member of the Osceola Church of the Brethren and a member of the Willing Workers Class at the church. She also belonged to the Women of the Moose and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Osceola American Legion. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the Osceola Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (August 5, 2013) at the Osceola Church of the Brethren, 53862 Beech Road, Osceola, IN. Pastor Jerry Brenneman will preside and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
