Surviving is his daughter, Pam J. (Patrick J.) Singer of Elkhart, and a sister, Arlene (Ralph) Flora of Mishawaka. Dick is also survived by his grandchildren, Michelle Kincses of Elkhart, Jacob Holland of Mishawaka, Pattie Jo Holland of South Bend, and Donald Holland Jr. of Mishawaka. Surviving as well are his great-grandchildren, Alicia, Julia, Lucas and Gavin; and great-great-grandchildren, Daniel Jr. and Noah. Dick was preceded in death by his siblings, Loretta Freel, Danny Springer and Dolly Cravens.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Monday, October 2, 2017 at Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Osceola. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Dick was employed by Whitehall Laboratories in Elkhart, retiring after 33 years as a machine operator. He later worked part time delivering parts for Ridge Auto for over 10 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf. Dick was an avid fan of polka music and enjoyed dancing and playing the accordion. He was also a longtime member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion Post #308 in Osceola, and Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka.
