Terumi Leggett, 75, passed away Monday July 29, 2013 at St. David's South Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas. She was born March 12, 1938 in Tokyo, Japan to Takeo and Kiwako Umeda and resided in Austin, Texas for many years.

Terumi was a petite, energetic, strong, loving, caring incredible person to be with, to be near and work with. She had a beautiful warm smile, the ability to talk to anyone, and was a wonderful influence in our lives. Her deep appreciation of order and beauty was reflected in her Japanese Collectables, and also, her personal creation of KIMEKOMI DOLLS which she taught to others in Okinawa, Japan. She traveled with her husband Frank, a MSGT with the U.S. Air Force. She worked at the Austin Police Department in the Fingerprint Division for 18 years making many longtime friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Francis "Frank" J. Leggett; her parents Takeo and Kiwako Umeda, her brother Takehiko Umeda and a sister Tomoko Kofuku.

She is survived by her son Joseph Frank Leggett of Austin, Texas, one sister Sumiko Ito and her husband Atsumi Ito of Japan, two sister-in-laws Theresa Ann Leggett, Rose Fazio Leggett and her husband Godfrey C. Leggett of Beaumont, Texas and nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial Services will be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 4th of August 2013, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Light refreshments will be provided by the family through Cook-Walden Funeral Home.

A private burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas.
