Myrtle Agatha (Christianson) Kling Hess, age 90, a resident of Spooner, died on Thursday, November 02, 2006, at the Spooner Health System.

Myrtle was born on July 7, 1916, in Blair, Trempealeau County, Wisconsin, to parents Christian and Carrie (Granlund) Christianson. She graduated from Taylor High School and attended La Crosse State Teachers College.

In 1936, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Kling, who preceded her in death in 1982.

In 1988, she was united in marriage to Arnold Hess, who also preceded her in death in 1998.

Myrtle was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Spooner, WI, and a proud member of the choir. She also participated in the church guild, and served as local secretary of the AAL for years. She was employed for many years as a dental assistant in Dr. Charles Rector's office in Spooner.

Myrtle is survived by her 6 children: Richard (Linda) Kling of New Richmond, WI, Dan (Janice) Kling of Sarona, WI, Nancy (J. Allen) Rich of Spooner, James (Donna) Kling of Eau Claire, WI, Mary (Roy) Colborn of Foxboro, WI, Betty (James) Lessard of Ham Lake, MN, 25 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 1 great- great grandchild, 3 sister-in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, as well as many friends.

Myrtle is preceded in death by her husbands Kenneth Kling and Arnold Hess, parents, 3 sisters, and 7 brothers.

Interment will be at the Brookside Trump Coulee Cemetery in Blair, Wisconsin.
