HENDERSON, Ky. -- Ada G. Morgan, 99, formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
Born Aug. 28, 1908, in Mississippi County, Mo., to the late Alonzo and Jane Tompkins Gordon, she had lived in East Prairie most of her life where she was a member of the Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church and its Belle Bennett Circle and the Welcome Sunday School Class. She later moved to Henderson and became a member of the First United Methodist Church.
On Sept. 30, 1925, she married Clay Morgan who preceded her in death on March 27, 1987.
Also two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Surviving are: one son, William Allison "Sonny" Morgan of Highlands, Texas; two daughters, Patricia Larue Todd of Henderson and Ruby Clayton McNabb of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Ruby DeMent of the state of Delaware; and six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church in East Prairie. Her grandson, the Rev. Alan Todd and Rev. Dan Usher, pastor of the Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Steve McNabb, David McNabb, Kent Morgan, Jess Park, Jeremy Duncan, David Park and Kathy Park.
