"Mr. William Luse, of Farmers Mills, died Tuesday evening, while his youngest daughter died in the morning of the same day. This is the third death in his family from diphtheria, and the remaining members of the family are similarly afflicted. Mr. Luse was a man highly respected for his integrity and genial qualities, and was a popular member of the township school board, which will lose a faithful member, as well as the community a good and useful citizen." (Centre Reporter, Centre Hall, Pa., Jan. 28, 1892)
