Born in Fairhaven, the daughter of the late Joaquim and Leopoldina (Lomba) Silva, she had lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Andrews of Fairhaven; two daughters, Beverly Gonsalves and Carol Fonseca, and her husband Richard, all of New Bedford; a brother, Edward Sylvia of New Bedford; three sisters, Lillian Barros and Rose Pereira, both of New Bedford, and Laura Tavares of Lisbon, Portugal; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Joseph Silva, Henry Silva, Arthur Silva, John Silva , Daniel Silva, Joaquim Silva, Jr., Norman Silva, Olivia Costa, Louise Correia, Mary Silva, Elsie Santos and Dorothy Silva.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday December 2, 2005 at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday December 1, 2005 from 6-9 PM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
