Evelyn married Charles Stone Bushnell on March 15, 1941 and settled in Rochester, New York where they raised their three children. Upon retirement Evie and Chuck moved to The Woodlands, Texas. She was an Elder in Third Presbyterian Church in Rochester, as well as in the Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church. In honor of Chuck's memory, she sponsored and set up the library in the Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church.
Evelyn's life has been one of caretaking and service-service to her family, to the "Y," the church, Memorial Hermann Woodlands Hospital, and in her community. Her husband, Charles Stone Bushnell, Jr., and her son, Charles Stone Bushnell III, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Susan Bushnell Hinde and her husband, H. Steven Hinde, and Sarah Bushnell Tate and her husband, Thomas Greig Tate; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren.
A Family Committal Service will be held at the Klein Memorial Gardens, at 10:00AM, on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. A Public Memorial Service will be held at the Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church, 4881 W. Panther Creek Drive, the Woodlands, Texas, at 2:00PM the same day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church.
