Percy Hillyer, 79, Resident of Jamesburg
JAMESBURG - Percy Hillyer, 79, of Colletti Terrace died Saturday in St. Peter's Medical Center, New Brunswick. Born in Old Bridge, Mr. Hillyer had lived in Spotswood many years before moving to Jamesburg two years ago.
Mr. Hillyer had been a payloader operator at the Quigley Co. in Old Bridge for more than 30 years, retiring 17 years ago. His wife, Bernice Bloodgood Hillyer, died in 1973.
Surviving are a son, Samuel of Clarksburg; a daughter, Patricia Brown of Helmetta; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Eckman Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Spotswood, with the Rev. Joseph W. Woods, pastor of the Spotswood Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery, East Brunswick.
