"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 33, No 21, p 3, May 24, 1877.

At Adams Centre, N. Y., May 11th, 1877, Mrs. Rosana Gurley, aged 57 years. She was a woman of great energy and industry, and during the last year of her life, though gradually wasting under the power of disease, she was very active and hopeful. She was about and hopefully planning for the future until within less than a week from her death.

She was always a very active Christian, especially delighting in the prayer meeting, where she was a willing witness to the love of Jesus. She was warmly attached to her friends and her family, and desired to live, but cheerfully yielded to the will of God, having no doubts of her acceptance. Her death is another example of the power of Christian faith in the mortal hour. She was a member of the Adams church, who, with her family, mourn her loss. But "as one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you," (Isa. 66: 13,) is God's promise to the mourner.
