Mrs. Charlotte Reed born June 23, 1949 departed this life on Monday August 12, 2013 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, KY being 64-years, 1-month, and 19-days of age at the time of her passing. Charlotte was born in Letcher County the daughter of the late Garland Griffie and the late Artie Cole Griffie. Charlotte was also preceded in death by Four Sisters – May Adams, Phyllis Pennington, Jeri Campbell and Catherine Griffie. Charlotte was a Member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, and was retired from Sylvania Glass Company.
Mrs. Charlotte Reed leaves the following Relatives Surviving: Husband – Wesley Reed of Lexington, KY; Two Sons – Kevin Whitaker and Michael Reed both of Lexington, KY; Three Brothers – Lloyd Griffie of Versailles, Tommy Griffie and Terry Griffie both of Hallie; Three Sisters – Faye Day of Lexington, KY, Pamela Halcomb and Sue Asher both of Cornettsville, KY; Five Grandchildren – Austin Reed, Kayla Whitaker, Charlotte Reed, Cameron Whitaker and Michelle Reed all of Lexington, KY, and a host of other Relatives and Friends Survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Charlotte Reed were conducted on Thursday August 15, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Cornettsville, KY with Kenny Salmons officiating.
