Delia Spencer was a journalist; her father worked for a major railroad company. Delia had a pass to travel by train, from anywhere to anywhere in the United States. That is how she met Leon Ross Albee from Midland, Michigan--in Sandpoint, Bonner County, Idaho! Delia and Leon were married in Dover, Idaho in 1910 and their first two sons, Ellwyn and Gilbert were born there. After they decided to make their home in Midland, Michigan, permanently, Delia gave birth to her only daughter, Eleanor, and youngest son, Clare. Delia Albee died at home after losing a bitter fight with breast cancer in 1933. Delia Spencer Albee was my great-grandmother.
