Lavada Ray Self, age 88, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Northhaven Healthcare Center. She was a faithful and working member of Mt. Tabor Baptist church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Emory G. Self; parents, William M. and Eliza Greene; three sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sharen and Dennis Watson and Karen and Charles (Sonny) Wilson; grandchildren, Michael Wilson, Adam Watson, Taylor Watson, and Joseph Watson; great-granddaughter, Cadie Wilson; brother, Charles E. Greene. Funeral service will be at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Butch Cooper and Rev. Don Woody officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
