I went to find Sarah's Memorial Stone at Shaker Cemetery at South Union in Logan County, Kentucky, to try and find out more about her. When I got there I talked to a young man that told me the Cemetery Stones were no longer there. He said that in the 1940's a man that had bought the land had all the Memorial Stones removed and ground up to lime dust to spread on his fields. Unbelievable! There were between 500-600 graves in this cementery. There has now been a very large Memorial Stone set in the middle of the six acre cementery that is beautifully fenced.
