BANGOR - Mrs. Mildred W. Brewster, 64, died Feb. 16 in a Bangor hospital following a very brief illness.
She was born in Dexter, Oct. 9, 1914, the daughter of Raymond V. and Hazel (Robinson) Whitmore. She was educated in the Dexter schools and graduated from Simmons College in 1937 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a teacher at Dexter High School and at Stoneleigh Junior
College. On Oct. 12, 1940 she married Charles F. Brewster of Dexter. She was active in the Dexter Universalist Church and served as vice president of the Dexter High School Alumni Association and as a trustee of Plummer Memorial Hospital.
In 1946 she moved with her family to Bangor where she had been an activer member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was a treasurer of the Bangor Junior League and has served on the board of directors of various civic organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Charles F. Brewster, a Bangor attorney; her daugher, Betsey (Brewster) Case of Columbus, Ohio; her son and daughter-in-law, Whitmore F. (Buz) and Joanne W. Brewster of Williams, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Pamela Anne Brewster, Joshua Charles Brewster and Jacob Worsley Brewster, all of Williams, Calif.
Private funeral services were Feb.19 in Bangor. Spring burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
