SYLVANIA, Ga. - On Friday, November 14, 2008, Frances Newton Forehand, age 59, lost her battle with cancer and passed into eternal rest at her residence. Frances was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.F. Newton. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a native of Screven County and a member of the Hiltonia United Methodist Church and the Edgefield Chapter #1018, United Daughters of the Confederacy. Frances was employed with Plant Vogtle for twenty-eight years.
She leaves to cherish fond memories one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Lee Herron, of Edgefield, South Carolina; one son, Ben Forehand, of Hiltonia, Georgia; brother, Ben Williams, of Sylvania, Georgia; sister, Martha Poole, of Statesboro, Georgia; four grandchildren, Hannah and Averi Forehand of Rocky Ford, Georgia, Courtney Herron of Augusta, Georgia, and Summer Herron of Edgefield, South Carolina, along with several nieces and nephews. No funeral services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
