She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on May 15, 1845, the daughter of the late William Lay and Kisiah Sadler Lay.
She was the wife of Joseph Franklin Girdler, whom she married in Pulaski County, Kentucky on September 30, 1866.
She was survived by a two sons, Josiah William Girdler and James H. Girdler both of Pulaski County, Kentucky; two daughters, Anna Belle "Annie" Girdler and Linnie Ellen "Lena" Girdler both of Pulaski County, Kentucky and a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
Other than her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Levi Girdler.
Burial was in the Bishop Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.
