Daughter of Paul Herman & Bertha Brake Zipplies, and the widow of Dr. John Spencer Atwater Sr.

Honor graduate of Valdosta State College, where she served as Student Body President and May Queen.

Member of several guilds and garden clubs in Atlanta and the state of Georgia.

Survived by two sons and a daughter; three sisters; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services: Thursday, November 4, 1993 at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, of which she was a member.

Burial: Arlington Memorial Park.
