A private family burial will be prior to the service at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Adams passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at The Hospice of East Texas.
He was born November 4, 1919 in Chandler to Carl Bryan and Attis Mae Allen Adams.
Carl was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Tyler.
Mr. Adams served in the Merchant Marines in WWII. He loved hunting, fishing, skeet-shooting and was incredibly mechanical, being able to fix anything.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 17 years, Opal Faye Adams of Tyler; son, William Donald Adams of Tyler; daughters, Marsha Delong of Bozeman, Montana and Donna Thurman of Auckland, New Zealand; step-daughters, Judy Mey of Whitehouse and Teresa Gibbons of Grand Prairie; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and brother, Milton Adams of Tyler.
Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 7330 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler, Texas 75703 or a charity of choice.
