Archie Clevinger, 80, of Pikeville, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at his residence.

He was born in Goody, Jan. 14, 1928, to the late Kenneth "Bill" and Dixie Maynard Clevinger.

He was a retired employee of Big Sandy Wholesale and a World War II veteran. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Clevinger; one brother, Willie "Junior" Clevinger; and one sister, Juanita Blackburn.

He is survived by his wife, Stella Sesco Clevinger; one son, Jerry Clevinger of Ewing; one daughter, Nancy White of Science Hill; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, at the Community Funeral Home with Bill Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Bent Ridge Cemetery, Meta. Arrangements are under the direction of the Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday.
