Stella Clevinger, 78, of Lower Johns Creek, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, in Ewing, at the home of her son.

She was born in Pike County, Feb. 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Sterling and Lora Lowe Sesco.

She was the owner and operator of Clevinger's Grocery, and a member of the Gulnare Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Archie Clevinger; one son, Kenneth Clevinger; five brothers, Bill Sesco, Edgar Sesco, Jimmy Sesco, Ersel Sesco, Amos Sesco; one sister, Ollie Marie Maynard; one granddaughter, Paige Tennille Clevinger; one son-in-law, J.C. White; one brother-in-law, Clayton Maynard; and one sister-in-law, Cora Sesco.

She is survived by one son, Jerry Clevinger (Charlene) of Ewing; one daughter, Nancy White of Science Hill; two sisters, Nellie Taylor (Ray) of Pikeville and Della Adkins (Harlan) of Shelbiana; five grandchildren, Lynette Burchett (Keith), Kenneth David Clevinger (Samatha), Mark White (Melissa), Jayetta Hall (Phillip), Jessica Bevins (Mickey); three stepgrandchildren, Candy Taylor (Marvin), Denise Howard (Calvin), Kenya Conn (Rodney); nine great-grandchildren, Colby, Teresa, Keith, Josh, Ryan, Noah, Abigail, Bryson and Carly; eight stepgreat-grandchildren, Brandi, Trish, Michael, Corey, Jacob, CC, Aaron and Shelby; one great-great-grandson, Kenneth Jay; one stepgreat-great grandson, Trenton; and her caregiver, Ronita Rhanklin.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, in the Community Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Maynard officiating. Burial followed in the Bent Ridge Cemetery, Meta. Arrangements were under direction of Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.

Pallbearers were Lester Taylor, Mitchell Sesco, David Maynard, Jeffrey Adkins, Keith Burchett and Norman Taylor.
