Son of Jacob Schweikhardt. Spelling of surname changed to Swigart in 1776 and finally to Swigert. Served during the Revolutionary War under two captains: Private for Captain Martin Weaver 05 Nov 1777 and then musterred Oct 1780 as a Private in Captain Bowman's Company, the 6th of the 1st class, 5th Battalion, Lancaster Co, PA Militia.
