All b in Indiana.

Amanda was listed on the 1870 US Census for Scipio PO, Geneva TWP, Jennings Co., Indiana with her father Oliver, mother Sara A. five sisters and two brothers, as 9 years old. Her family was also in the same TWP on the 1860 US Census. I would say that Amanda was born there. Amanda died at age 56yr 10mo 8dy she is buried next to her husband, Edward Miller. I have a picture of their grave markers. The burial data is also in the book OLD CEMETERIES FAYETTE COUNTY INDIANA.

Amanda's OBIT is from her memorial card in my file. The battle for earthly life is over and the life beyond has begun for another dear one. The Reaper, Death, comes at all times, to all ages, and in this case, when least expected. This dear one left her home in apparently the best of health and in a few short hours Death had laid her low--- Amanda, daughter of Oliver and Sarah Ann Carson was born June 24, 1860 near Sardinia, Jennings county, Indiana and departed this life a 8 o'clock on the evening of May 2, 1917, aged 56 years, 10 months and 8 days. She was one of a family of ten children, four sons and six daughters, and her death leaves six of her immediate family four brothers and two sisters. Growing into womanhood, surrounded by the influences of a good Christian home, her joys, sorrows and advantages were such as belonged to the community in the community in which she was reared. At the age of 21 she was united in marriage to Edward Miller, on April 28, 1881. The young people began life on a farm in Jennings county and lived there until 1893, when they moved to a farm near Bentonville, Ind., and their home has been in this neighborhood ever since. To them were born eleven children, six sons and five daughters, of whom four girls and four boys are living, and who today realize that in mother they have lost their dearest and best friend. The children who have preceded their mother into the better land are a daughter, Minnie, a son Elmer and a little babe. Mrs. Miller was a faithful member of the Baptist church and always lived a consistent Christian life. Her life was entirely bound up in her home and children, always striving to do the best for them in every way. She was a loving , helpful wife, ever ready to do her share for the good of her husband and family. A willing and sympathetic helper in times of trouble and sorrow among her neighbors and friends, she will be sadly missed, not only in her home, but in the community as well. It is well said, that to live in hearts we leave behind is not to die, therefore mother is not dead; she is just away. Of her immediate family she leaves her husband, four sons, Adam, Albert, Israel and Edgar; four daughters, Mrs. Rosa Weaver, Mrs. Katie Walters, Mrs. Mamie Gibbs and Ehel Miller and thirteen grandchildren.
