The Newcum Family Bible list Elender as being born to Lance and Lucy (Hudnell) Newcum, 8 January 1860. It also list her being married first to William H. Eads, (FAG 143518707) on 16 Mar 1887.

After Mr. Eads death in 1902 she married John Adams (FAG 38974933) on 1 Dec 1903. Mr. Adams and Ellen are listed in the Rockcastle County, Kentucky Census of 1910. Sometime after Mr. John Adams' death in 1912, she married Mr. William L. Murray and died in Blanford, Vermillion County, Indiana.
