Alexander McCarthy, 65, died unexpectedly Friday in Ocala, Fla. He was a native of Stiles, Wis., made his home in Muncie 39 years and moved to Ocala five years ago. Mr. McCarthy retired from Warner Gear Division in 1969. He was a member of the Warner Gear Sympathy Club and while in Muncie attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church.


Surviving are his wife, Alberta; one son, James McCarthy, Muncie; three brothers, Steve McCarthy of Gillette, Wis., John McCarthy Jr. of Milwaukee, and William McCarthy of Suring, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Boutell of Milwaukee and Mrs. Margaret Miller of Neenhah, Wis.; and four grandchildren.


Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Emil A. Schweier will officiate. Entombment will be in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call from 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parson Mortuary.
