He immigrated to Owen Sound in the 1860s (may have first lived in Egremont and then) settling in Sarawak Township. He was a farmer and he and his wife Mary HUSTON had at least 12 children: Jane ADAMS, Robert, Mary Ann SIM, Hester (died as infant), Bessie MCCLUSKY, Esther MCCLOUD, John, William, Sarah (died as an infant), Thomas, Elizabeth MCLEAN-DAWSON and Rachel ROTHEN. We are not sure that the information provided on his death certificate about his parent's names is correct since Mary HUSTON's parents were also named William and Esther.
