OBITUARY - Bloomfield News, January 19, 1906

Robert ASHCRAFT, a respected pioneer citizen of Jackson Township, residing one mile northeast of Koleen, died last Saturday morning after an illness of about one year, though the immediate cause of his death was an attack of pneumonia attended by a complication of troubles.

As a result of rheumatism he had not walked a step in thirty-three years. He was born in Ohio and was seventy-six years of age.

He left a wife and the following children: Mrs. Thomas WILSON, of Hobbieville; Mrs. John SEXSON, Greenfield; Mrs. Jonathan NOEL, Switz City; George ASHCRAFT, Switz City; Temis and Freeman ASHCRAFT, Koleen; John ASHCRAFT, of Dakota, and H. L. ASHCRAFT, Spokane, Washington. He was the grandfather of Oscar and Miss Zona PETERSON, of this place.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Ashcraft Chapel.
