Funeral services were held for Mary Alice Trehern, 79, of Escatawpa on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Escatawpa Baptist Church in Escatawpa.

Interment followed in Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula with Bro. Todd Bowen officiating the services.

A devoted Christian, who faithfully attended Escatawpa Baptist Church with her children at her side for over 50 years, she was very active with her many friends through the Kitchen Ministry, providing meals for church-wide events and bereaving church families. Employed at Singing River Hospital for over 20 years as PBX Operator over the hospitals main switchboard, through which all incoming and outgoing calls were directed until her retirement, she died September 1. She was born on December 15, 1933 in George County.

She is survived by her sons Billy (Angela) Trehern of Pascagoula and Bobby (Marilyn) Trehern of Agricola; daughters Patti Trehern (Kory) Banks of Escatawpa and Linda Trehern (Mike) Barnett of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren Jeffrey (Cristy) Trehern, Kimberly Trehern (Tony) Bonetti, Robby (Kristina) Trehern, Jeremy Trehern and Eleanor Brown; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Andrea and Tony Bonetti, Kallee and Karaline Trehern and Tristan Trehern; and brother Claude (Wylene) Parker of McComb.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Edward Trehern; parents Wiley and Martha Parker; sister Isabel (Parker) Emerson; brother Mack Parker; and twin nieces, whom she grew up with as sisters, Myrtle (Emerson) Carter and Margaret (Emerson) Baxter.

Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa was in charge of arrangements.
