Daughter of Michael and Anna Novak

-----Elsie L. Kantt, 87, of Lexington Healthcare in Schaumburg, formerly of 606 E. Morrell St., died at 2:46 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2005 at Lexington Healthcare in Schaumburg.


Pallbearers will be grandsons: John Jaloway and Gary and Tim Darenski; nephews: Dale and David Sass; and great-nephews: Doug and Eric Sass.


She was born February 18, 1918 in Streator, a daughter of Michael and Anna (Mehall) Novak. She married Frederick K. Kantt on September 14, 1940. He died February 1, 1980.


Surviving are daughters: Sheila (John) Jaloway of Arlington Heights and Carol Darenski of Griffith, Indiana; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Lou, Frank and Bud Novak; and sisters: Anne Biros, Priscilla Wilhelm, Marie Slacanin, Sophie Maty and two sisters in infancy.


She was a bookkeeper for Material Service Corporation in Chicago and was also a lunchroom supervisor at Streator high school


She was a member of St. Stephen's Church.
