The funeral service for Cadet Brooks was held at the Brooks home, now a Texas historic landmark, at 155 Crofton Avenue, San Antonio.

Next to the Brooks Memorial Park is Hangar 9, now the Edward H. White II Memorial Museum (in honor of the San Antonian who became the first American to walk in space), a national historic landmark and reputedly the oldest existing hangar in the United States Sir Force.
