Vely Barlatier of Miami, died Sept. 2, 2013. He was born Dec. 22, 1943, in St. Louis du Nord, Haiti, to parents Rene Barlatier and Rosemonde Poux Barlatier. Vely came to the United States in spring of 1969. As a young man, he went to school, enjoyed family and friends, and worked as a taxi driver in the city of Boston. In 1971, he met the love of his life Marie Claude Florvil and together they had their daughters, Lynda Andrews and Aisha Bonny. Vely worked for Coca-Cola for 15 years in Needham, Mass. After his retirement from Coca-Cola, Vely and his wife Marie Claude moved to Florida as they had always talked about. After moving to Florida, Vely joined the Haitian American Association of Dade County (HACAD) as their chief accountant. He worked at HACAD from 1991-1996 before going into full retirement. After raising his daughters, Velys pride and joy were his grandchildren, Christian, Daniel, and Chloe. Vely was a hard worker with tireless work ethic. Velys greatest pastime was spending time with family and close friends. This was evident in the amount of time he spent on Facebook posting pictures and commenting on the pictures posted by his children, nieces, and nephews. He was most proud of what the next generation had accomplished in their educational goals, careers, and family life. Vely was very sensitive and most compassionate toward those in difficult situations, almost to a fault. Vely is survived by his loving wife, Marie Claude Barlatier; his daughters, Lynda Andrews and Aisha Bonny; siblings, Charlotte Cadet and her husband Yves, Suzy Bonny, Louis-Rene, Florence Greene and her husband Joefrey, Carl Barlatier and his wife Jocelene, Christiane, Barlatier, Sacha Barlatier and his wife Ann, Louis Monfort Dorvil, Betsy Barlatier, Annie Barlatier, David Barlatier and his wife Yanick, Jean Navarre Barlatier and his wife Hermaine, Benoit Dorvil and Pologne Gustilien; his aunts, Dieudonne Barlatier Desrameaux Mirabal, Anaise La France Nohomme, Marie Louise Alexandre, Andre Alexandre; and the families of Barlatier, Cadet, Florvil, Greenne, Andrew, Magloire, Bonny, Dorvil, Poux-Bernateau, Celestin, Guerrier, Desrameaux, Memnon, Jadotte, Moreau, Ducheine, McLean, Meyers, Murray, Lacroix, Ligonde, Gaillard, Lopez, Destine, Vanderpool, Eugene, Joseph, Catabois, Herein, Kerri, Avis, Didier, Allonce, Matheus, Desrosiers, Mompoint, Beaugris, Lafrance, Alezi, Dareus, Telfort, Benoit, Alcindor, Charles, Tessier, Rene, Nelson, Theagene, Monhomme, Justilien, Monestime, Mirabel, Alexandre, Johnson and Shote.
