Zula Burger Wilson age 80, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013. She was born August 5, 1933 in Boyle County. SHe was the daughter if the late Claude and Alma Southerland Burger. She was the widow of the late late Thomas Lee Wilson, Sr. Ms Zula retired after 33 years of service with Genesco, she was a member of Parksville Knob Independent Baptist Church, and she enjoyed cooking, making her delicious chocolate and lemon pies, growing flowers, watching the birds, and spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Lee (Stella) Wilson, Jr., Joseph R. (Bev) Wilson, both of Danville, son-in-law Danny E. Cooper of Parksville, a daughter, Rita Fay (David) Yates of Danville, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Claude (Clancy) Burger of Gravel Switch, Marvin (Londalee) Burger of Cincinnati, Robert (Mary) Burger of Danville, and two sisters Christine (Marty) Warren and Ruth Cooley of Danville. Ms Zula was a friend to a lot of kids in the community that grew up with her own children. Her door was always open to them. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Kay Cooper, grandson, David Alan Yates, Jr., a brother, Alton Burger, and two sisters, Zora Pike and Lucille Johnson. Funeral service will be 1:00p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Preston Pruitt Funeral Home. Bro. Stanley Young will be officiating. Burial will follow in Parksville Cemetery. Visitation will be at Preston Pruitt Funeral Home from 6-9p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013. Casket bearers will be Mrs. Wilson's grandson, Jeff, Darick, and Collin Wilson, Ben and T.J. Cooper, and standing in for David Alan Yates, Jr. with be his father David Alan Yates, Sr.
