She was born on April 19, 1933 in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Eleanore Kubel and William Zastoupil.
She attended Sheboygan area grade schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1951.
She was employed at Leather Products in Sheboygan for several years.
On May 25, 1957 she married Edward L. Pfister at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
The couple resided in Sheboygan after their marriage before moving to Plymouth in 1991.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her loving family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Edward, of Plymouth; her three loving children; five grandchildren; one stepsister; brothers and sisters-in-law; two nephews. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives.
Shirley was preceded in death by her stepmother, Annis Van Horn-Zastoupil; one sister, Marion Seipel, and her husband Sylvester; and one brother, William Zastoupil; her brother and sisters-in-law, Pat Verona and Roger Pfister.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, preceded by family rites at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth at 12:30 p.m. Father Dennis Van Beek, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.
Friends may call at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday at Suchon Funeral Home.
A memorial fund is being established in her name for the American Cancer Society.
She will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother.
